I have not been very good at keeping up to date with the J’Namas Toybox blog and, I promise, I will try and do better.

I have just been perusing our latest copy of a toy trade magazine, which featured a review of the Toy Fair in Olympia. My husband and I were lucky enough to attend the Toy Fair (I LOVE Toy Fairs!) and we had a fantastic time. We opened several new accounts with new partners which allowed us to add many new product lines to our range. Of course, we spent far too much money - this is retail therapy of a different kind. Many of the new ranges have now arrived in stock and are selling really well, so all in all, for us it was a great success. (Oh and many thanks to Maxine Large and Schleich for lunch!)

Some of our new ranges include popular pre-school characters such as Peppa Pig, Timmy Time, Fireman Sam and Postman Pat Special Delivery Service. We also extended some of our current lines (like Sylvanian Families) and added new popular toy ranges like Puppy in My Pocket and Go Go Hamsters (which have been re-named Zhu Zhu and are currently on order). We are also really excited about the new Chuggington range that was launched by Learning Curve (which reminds me - I must ring them again!)

Anyway, I digress. What struck me as I was reading the review of the Toy Fair, was that many of the Award Winners are some of our more long-standing partners. Character Options, one of our new partners, won the award for 'Pre School Licensed Range of the Year' for Peppa Pig (some really great playsets - I love them) and for 'Toy of the Year 2009 - GoGo Hamsters'. We were absolutely delighted that Flair, one of our longest-standing suppliers won the award for 'Supplier of the Year' and, in my opinion, it was well deserved. They also won the award for 'Girls Toy of the Year' which was for the Sylvanian Families Car and Caravan (which we stock, albeit separately at the moment.) And finally Schleich , another long-standing partner, won the 'TRA Special Recognition Award'. I really like the Schleich products - did you know they are the current supplier of the Smurfs figures (Now I feel old!)?

All in all, it was a really great event for us, but I am really proud to be associated with these award-winning companies - CONGRATULATIONS to all of them!!!

Thank you for reading - until next time xx

Welcome to J'Namas Toybox Blog

Hello everyone...

...and welcome to the J'Namas Toybox blog!
